The Warden is the first new class since launch of ESO, and true to ESO and the Elder Scrolls franchise, the player will have the freedom to select from a number of abilities that enable a variety of play styles. Players will harness nature-based magic to master the powerful new character class - The Warden. Players will embark on a dangerous journey through legendary locales in Vvardenfell, 700 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls III, from the docks of Seyda Neen, to the volcanic Ashlands, to dense, mushroom-filled forests, and through the glory of Vivec City, still under construction in this time period. Vvardenfell is the largest zone added to The Elder Scrolls Online since launch and utilizes the same geographic footprint as The Elder Scrolls III, including all key points of interest from the classic game. Introducing an enormous new zone, a new player class, more than 30 hours of main story content, a new Trial, and a new three-team, 4v4v4 PvP mode, The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind will be the biggest addition to The Elder Scrolls Online yet, offering a new adventure for ESO veterans as well as a fresh Elder Scrolls saga for players new to the game. This new adventure will return Elder Scrolls fans to the legendary island of Vvardenfell, the same iconic environment featured in Bethesda Game Studios’ genre-defining open world RPG, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. If the philosophy of the stand-alone single-player games is maintained, it will be more of a sandbox-style game. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is the next Chapter of ZeniMax Online Studios’ award-winning online RPG, The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). The question is whether The Elder Scrolls Online will be a “sandbox” style MMORPG, or whether it will be more of a “theme park” MMORPG where you are guided along. I’m very interested – I’ve played Elder Scrolls III Morrowwind and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and they were terrific single-player RPGs. There are rumors that ESO will be shown off at E3 next month. ZeniMax is the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, which is over the Elder Scrolls franchise. Not long after leaving Mythic, he moved over to ZeniMax Media Inc., to head up ZeniMax Online Studios. He was also in charge of DAOC during its first couple of expansions. He helped found Mythic Entertainment, and would go on to be the producer of the MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot, a game that is still going today over a decade later. What do we know about Matt Firor? He’s actually well-known in the gaming and MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) communities. Matt Firor – Game Director of Elder Scrolls Online – Managed by Matt Firor (more on him in a moment) – It has been in development for several years – Set 1,000 years before Elder Scrolls’ Skyrim – Developed by Zenimax Online Studios (parent company of Bethesda). Players will discover an entirely new chapter of Elder Scrolls history in this ambitious world, set a millennium before the events of Skyrim as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm. The basic plot, as outlined by Game Informer: They will also be providing a game trailer tomorrow. Game Informer is promising information about everything from solo quests to public dungeons, along with the three faction player-versus-player setting (PvP), which will take place in “open-world warfare over the province of Cyrodiil and the Emperor’s Throne itself.” It will be discussed more thoroughly in their June issue. Mac gamers rejoice! We may not have Mac-native version of the other single-player Elder Scrolls RPG games from Bethesday, but we’ll have ESO in 2013.Įlder Scrolls Online has been a poorly kept secret for a while, but today Game Informer gave us some solid details. The Elder Scrolls Online may not be a World of Warcraft killer (is anything?), but like World of Warcraft, there will be a Mac version of the game.
